Home improvements
Thursday 06-05-2008 11:37am CT
Ok, the fun has started as we start the upgrades on our house. Over the next couple of months we will have windows, a new roof and granite put on the fireplace. I will share my experience good and bad with you. I will also have photo's of before and after for you to see as well. The first leg of this journey is all about the windows. We got quotes from at least 3 different companies and about fainted on some of the prices quoted for installing 3 windows in our house. 2 bedroom windows and 1 large living room window. We also researched the different window manufactures and decided to go with Marvin Windows. Couple of tips always check with the BBB and see what they have to say about the company before you hire anyone. Not always a guarentee that things will go right , but better to check than not. We went with a company that had an excellent rating and had been in business since 1985. The company is Windco Sideco Inc ran by Jimmy Russell. Jimmy came to the house and gave us a quote for what we wanted. He was very professional and explained everything about what they would do for us. We told him we had 2 other companies coming out and would get back with him in a couple of days. After meeting with another company and checking the local home stores for windows we made our decision. I have to say Jimmy was the main reason we chose his company. He helped us pick out the right windows that would fit our budget and home decor. More to come
